This is a very good course, it is the second time we have played here and enjoyed it both times. The caddies were very good and the greens were in good condition. We both did seven shots better this time around which is most probably because we are now accustomed to the conditions and having […]
Yi Peng Festival – Chiang Mai
We were lucky to arrive in Chiang Mai on the last night of Yi Peng and Loy Krathong. Colourful lantern displays are set up at the Three Kings Monument, Thapae Gate and at all of other gates around the moat which encircles the Old Town district of Chiang Mai. Temples and households decorate their front entrances with coconut leaves […]
Pattaya Stay
We hadn’t visited Pattaya on any previous trips so Bruce decided to try this beach side town that is only 1 hour from Bangkok. We had been warned that it was a bit sleazy but sometimes it is good to experience these places. There are many golf courses between Bangkok and Pattaya and around Pattaya […]
Laem Chabang Golf Course
This was our most expensive games on this trip, costing nearly $200 each which included green fees, caddy and cart each. It was the best course we played in Pattaya but the greens were still a bit inconsistent. I think we would play this one again.
Eastern Star Golf Club
One Bruce’s aims on this trip was to play all the Robert Trent Jones Jr designed courses in Thailand. RTJ is the designer of both Joondallup and Meadow Springs and we love these two course in WA. He usually doesn’t do long courses but places the hazard well so that you need to think about […]
2009 Exchange – January
On Thursday, 2nd January, we started Teacher Exchange Year to Ontario in Canada. We caught our flight from Perth to Singapore, then Tokyo and finally Los Angeles. It took a little over 26 hours but it all went well, with Liam thoroughly enjoying the flight. He got several hours sleep during the flight which was […]
2008 December Family Update
In February we applied to go on exchange to Canada (to get away from Bruce’s Principal at the High School) and had a possible link with Greg and Judy very early in the piece. It took a few nerve wracking months for this to be confirmed but eventually all was in place and we started […]
2007 December Family Update
The football season came to an end in September. Liam started off well but became disinterested towards the end. He still enjoyed running around with his friends, but training wasn’t his forte. Megan thoroughly enjoyed her coaching and I enjoyed being team manager. Adam was our umpire. Liam’s teacher enjoyed big projects which got the […]
2007 December – Merv and Robyn’s Wedding
At the end of the school year we had the pleasure of being asked to witness Merv and Robyn’s marriage (19th November, 2007). It was a very private affair, with a lovely beach ceremony consisting of just the four of us and Laurissa the celebrant. It was just perfect, with us being bathed in bright […]
2007 August Family Update
Bruce is enjoying this year off idea. Rosie isn’t finding it as bad as she thought having me around all the time. Unfortunately we haven’t sold the Beach House yet so our finances aren’t as flush as we would have liked, but this hasn’t slowed us down. With David on part time and Chris and […]
