Bruce had nothing planned for today so we just had a leisurely breakfast overlooking our laundry, which was drying out on the street across the road from our hotel. A swim in the pool, a walk to a really nice coffee shop, a massage and then a walk around town.
Summit Green Valley Chiang Mai
This is an older course but is still in good condition. We found the greens to be better than Pattaya. The caddies were both very good. Worth playing again.
Chiang Mai Highlands
This is a very good course, it is the second time we have played here and enjoyed it both times. The caddies were very good and the greens were in good condition. We both did seven shots better this time around which is most probably because we are now accustomed to the conditions and having […]
Yi Peng Festival – Chiang Mai
We were lucky to arrive in Chiang Mai on the last night of Yi Peng and Loy Krathong. Colourful lantern displays are set up at the Three Kings Monument, Thapae Gate and at all of other gates around the moat which encircles the Old Town district of Chiang Mai. Temples and households decorate their front entrances with coconut leaves […]
Pattaya Stay
We hadn’t visited Pattaya on any previous trips so Bruce decided to try this beach side town that is only 1 hour from Bangkok. We had been warned that it was a bit sleazy but sometimes it is good to experience these places. There are many golf courses between Bangkok and Pattaya and around Pattaya […]
Laem Chabang Golf Course
This was our most expensive games on this trip, costing nearly $200 each which included green fees, caddy and cart each. It was the best course we played in Pattaya but the greens were still a bit inconsistent. I think we would play this one again.
Eastern Star Golf Club
One Bruce’s aims on this trip was to play all the Robert Trent Jones Jr designed courses in Thailand. RTJ is the designer of both Joondallup and Meadow Springs and we love these two course in WA. He usually doesn’t do long courses but places the hazard well so that you need to think about […]
2022 Family Update
Life is getting back to normal now, with Covid restrictions mostly gone. It is still tricky to travel overseas but Bruce has decided that it is time to step back into our overseas golf trips and is organising a trip for later in the year to use up our travel credits before they lapse. Bruce […]
2021 Family Update
Well 2021 was still in the grips of the Covid Epidemic and we were still restricted in where we could travel. Overseas was still a no go as well as the Eastern States so any holidays had to be within WA. Bruce is getting into growing tulips, he isn’t having much success but at least […]
2020 First Year of Retirement
Bruce no longer has to worry about going to work and is finding life very relaxing and stress free. He is now going to get much more involved in Veteran’s golf and go to as many Country Veteran’s golf games as possible. He has also set up a website to store the history of Margaret […]
