We left the resort yesterday and had another good flight down to Sydney. Liam got some colouring in pencils and a book which kept him occupied for most of the flight. Picked up another little Ford Laser in Sydney and had a confusing drive to Dee Why. We took a couple of wrong turns but eventually found Colin and Barbara Huntington’s neat two bedroom unit. It is perfectly located just back from the beach and surrounded by cafes. Couldn’t ask for anything more. Went for a walk along the cafe strip in the evening and then went off to bed. Liam has a bit of a cold at the moment and isn’t sleeping that well, which means we aren’t sleeping well either.
My knee is still pretty sore after tennis at the resort, I can hardly walk. Hope it gets better for skiing.
On Monday we took the car to Taronga Zoo. It was an easy drive following the route that we should have taken to get to Dee Why in the first place.

The zoo was good and Liam was very involved in navigating us around. He was quite good at following the map and generally could get where he wanted.

They had volunteers taking animals around that you could pet and get a close look at.

Since the school holidays have started here now, the zoo was quite crowded and we often had to improve Liam’s view, here we were watching an elephant taking a shower bath.
I really liked the views that the zoo had of Sydney, the Opera House and the Bridge. We took the sky train from the ferry wharf back up to the front entrance which again gave good views of the harbour and the zoo.

We didn’t get to see the seals show, it was full 45 minutes before it started, not that we even tried to get there. After the show, the seals continued to be very entertaining, jumping around and giving great photo opportunities.
We had a very pleasant day and an easy drive back to the unit.
A quiet night tonight, catching up on a bit of sleep and giving Liam a chance to get a bit better.
